Assessment and Evaluation Day Postponed-School Open Friday March 27th

The Halifax Regional School Board is postponing the Grade Primary to Grade 9 Assessment and Evaluation Day from Friday, March 27 to Friday, June 26. Students in Grades 10 to 12 were already scheduled to be in school this Friday.

School buses will be running and the EXCEL Child Care program will operate in schools where it is offered.

Given the weather-related challenges of the past two months, as well as the recent March Break and upcoming holidays at Easter, it is important that all students and staff be in their schools on Friday engaged in teaching and learning.

All schools will continue to focus on providing high-quality instruction and making the best use of available class time.

Report Cards will now be distributed at Georges P. Vanier on Monday, April 13th, instead of Thursday, April 9th.

Student Travel and School Access!

Please be advised that due to the snow, our parking lot size has been significantly reduced. If you are able to send your child on the bus tomorrow that would be greatly appreciated, as many cars dropping off students in a small parking lot may prove to be difficult. We will have staff and RCMP on site tomorrow to help navigate students who are walking, buses coming in and out of our lot, and any students being dropped off by parents. It will be an indoor day at lunch tomorrow, and students arriving on the bus will head into the cafeteria for supervision. At the end of the day, student will wait in the cafeteria until their bus arrives. We greatly appreciate your support during this very snowy time, and look forward to seeing all of your students after the break!
