Grade 8 Supply List 2009-2010

Classroom Supplies

• 20 HB Pencils (either Berol. Dixon, Mirado or Venus).
• 1 box of Pens (blue or black ink only)
• 3 white erasers
• 1 small pencil sharpener with catch container
• 1 large pencil case
• Metric ruler
• Basic Calculator with square root function (scientific calculator not required)
• 750 sheets of loose-leaf
• 1 Package (500 sheets) of plain letter size paper
• 2 Duotangs- Math Mental Math and Science (French Immersion Students)
• 4 solid glue sticks
• 1 pair of Scissors
• 1 pkg. of colored Pencils
• 1 pkg. of unscented markers (Georges P. Vanier is a scent restricted school.)
• 2 -1.5" zippered binders
• No white-out
• 2 Packages of Dividers and labels for Binders or Pocket Dividers
• French-English Dictionary (Collins/Robert, Harraps or Larousse)
• La Bescherelle (book for verbs)***French Immersion students only
• 2 boxes of Kleenex
• Small box of Reinforcements
• 4 legal size file folders (one will be used for Guidance class.)
• 25 cents for the Pay Phone
• 3 double pocket folders
• Protractor (compass not required)

Physical Education Supplies

• T-shirt or Sweat Shirt-School Phys. Ed. t-shirts will be available for purchase in September for approximately $6.00.  Orders will be taken the first day of school.
• Shorts, Sweat Pants or Wind Pants
• Sneakers that have laces and do not cause marks on the floor. No skateboard sneakers/shoes, please.
• Socks
• Scent-Free Deodorant and products (Roll-on or cream stick, please. No sprays.)

Band Supplies

• Instrument in good working order and Supplies required for instrument (ie: oils, reeds…) Pencil with white eraser
• Music binder
• Oil, reeds, etc., as required per instrument
• Book – Standard of Excellence, Book #2
• Percussion students may require drumsticks, yam. Mallets, yard mallets

Art Supplies

·        Coil Sketchbook

·        Colouring Pencils (Laurentiens are best)

·        Water colour set

·        Glue sticks

School Fees - $25.00

 School fees for lock purchase, locker rental, mandatory School Agenda Book, expenses related to use of printers, and consumables, will be collected during the first week of school. Cheques should be made payable to Georges P. Vanier junior High. Please  Note: Bristle Board may be purchased at the office for $1.00 per sheet.
